As a participant in the Doernbecher Freestyle initiative, a program that pairs young patients from OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital with design experts from Nike, Oli crafted his very own AF1 '07 sneaker inspired by his passion for food and cooking. Incorporating elements from his favorite ingredients, Oli adorned the midsole with laser-etched veggies and the Swoosh with embossed olive branches. Not stopping there, the design even features a tiny set of utensils that can be inserted into the Swoosh, perfect for those on-the-go snacking moments. During his treatment, Oli found solace in painting rainbows as symbols of hope and optimism, a sentiment that he carried over by including a rainbow on the outsole to serve as a reminder to stay positive when facing challenges.
