SNIPES X NIKE YARDRUNNERS SHUT DOWN NSU

Norfolk State was the place to be when Nike’s Yardrunners and SNIPES pulled up and turned the whole campus into a movie.

The Yardrunners movement continues to celebrate the legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and this year, Nike dropped the Air Max 95 “Yardrunners” Collection honoring Morehouse College, Spelman College, Florida A&M University, and Norfolk State University. Each sneaker reps school pride loud and proud with their signature colors, Big Bubble Air units, and founding years stamped on the tongues.

As a City Specialty partner, SNIPES brought that real community vibe to Norfolk State with a public block party that had the whole yard lit!

Folks who pulled up got first dibs on the NSU Air Max 95s before the official release; plus, they had the chance to experience live performances, giveaways, and community moments that made the whole day a vibe. DMV native and 2025 XXL Freshman Nino Paid took the stage, and the “Spartan Speaks” fireside chat brought together NSU legends like retired NBA player and Athletic Director Kyle O’Quinn, Devon Henry of Team Henry Enterprises, and celebrity stylist Dex Rob.

Guests also caught a Battle of the Bay ticket giveaway, custom Nike x SNIPES x Yardrunners charter bus rides, local food from Cups Up VA and Flavors 757, and music from the city’s own DJ Rayvon, Izzy the DJ, and Alana Mercedes.

Big love to everyone who came through and made the day one to remember. Norfolk showed out for real.
