NOM WAH X SNIPES #STOPASIANHATE
Since the start of the pandemic, there has been a rise of verbal and violent attacks against members of the Asian community. SNIPES stands in solidarity against these hateful, racist incidents as xenophobia has no place today’s world. We want to continue to educate ourselves while amplifying the work and voices of others who are fighting to unite cultures all across the globe.
In a recent trip to Nom Wah Tea Parlor (@nomwah), SNIPES connected with Wilson Tang (@dimsumnyc) who is a sneakerhead as well as the owner of the iconic restaurant. Nom Wah is the first dim sum parlor in NYC’s Chinatown and has been established in the same location for over 100 years. Nom Wah is a staple in New York City and has fed the community and acted as “beacon of light” since it opened its doors in 1920. As you can see in the video below, Tang is passionate about the community and looks to the youth as leaders ushering in much needed change. You get to hear his perspective and how he views that now is very pivotal time for this country.
As we highlight voices and organizations, we want to continue to help spread the positive message as well as help impact change. To the Asian American Pacific Islander community, we hear and fight with you for a brighter future.
Stay tuned for more from Nom Wah X SNIPES.
