FROM THE COURT TO THE STREETS: SNIPES x adidas FORUM CLASSIC

First hitting the shelves in 1984, the adidas Forum is a basketball sneaker intended for the diverse build of different hoopers. From small guards to tall forwards and everything in-between, French designer Jacques Chassaing wanted to create a shoe that checked off every box regardless of player size. With the whole team in mind, Chassaing pinpointed the ankle as the central focus and launched a new way to think basketball sneaker design. Before he helped build Jordan Brand, Michael Jordan helped create a love for the adidas Forum by playing in the silhouette in the 1984 USA Olympic Trials. Fast Forward to 2021, the shoe has a love for both on and off court wear and has helped build adidas heritage withing the basketball community.

On a night filled with a love for hoops and competition, SNIPES and adidas partnered together to host a 2v2 basketball tourney that centered around the influence and heritage of the adidas Forum. On Thursday, September 30, influencers and friends gathered in a warehouse to enjoy good food/drinks while watching one of the purest forms of basketball competition. The winners of the tournament were able to donate $10,000 to a charity of their choice and take home the SNIPES x adidas FORUM Classic Trophy. From the basketball shots to the hype kicks, this event showed that the adidas Forum is alive and well and has an appreciation in both the basketball and lifestyle spaces.
