THE NEW KD19 - SWEET LIKE CANDY

Written by: Parker Hargens

At SNIPES, we’ve seen it all from classic high-tops to futuristic concept-car-looking sneakers, but the KD19 satisfies that sweet tooth.

That first glance caught me off guard in the best way.

A candy-paint-like glossy finish covers the entirety of the upper, one so shiny that the nosebleeds could notice the detail within each sneaker. The Foamposite-like upper does make the shoe feel a bit heavier than the former KD iteration, but this one was built for those that lean more aggressive.

Moving into the court side, this one is tuned for players who move the way KD does.

Built to enhance your bounce, the cushioning stack brings back the fan-favorite full-length Zoom Strobel setup, sitting on top of Cushlon 3.0 foam and a molded sock liner. Together, they give you that springy, easy feel underfoot while still holding up through long sessions.

Breathability stays in check due to the mesh-like textile tongue, and the outsole enhances the grip with the lightning bolt traction pattern. But looking closer, you notice the key detail Nike used to showcase KD’s numbers 35 and 7.

Everything about the build points toward quick cuts, clean elevation, and staying comfortable when the game stretches into the fourth.

But looking to the streets, basketball shoes seem to be trending as the go-to sneaker. With that, these pair would be a sweet addition to your wardrobe.
