SNIPES partnered with PUMA last month to provide hometown heroes in Suitland, Maryland, an opportunity to share stories resonating with the community. Attendees selected and shared impactful narratives, creating an atmosphere of anticipation and unity. After each tale was shared, guests voted on the stories that resonated most with them.
The goal? To secure the $5,000 Community Changemaker Grant by the night’s end! Whoever could tell a captivating story that lingered in memory for days, if not months, was awarded the grant. The Community Changemakers Grant serves to empower and create positive change by bringing together the community, funding and addressing identified issues or needs, and facilitating long-term transformative change.
The carefully curated guest list of 15 included educators from Westlake High School, local artists, and small business owners. This intimate gathering aimed to inspire and empower, aligning seamlessly with SNIPES’ dedication to uplifting local communities.
Hosted by Cordae, a vibrant artist hailing from North Carolina and raised in Suitland — also in the process of recording his third studio album, The Crossroads – has been a champion of positive transformation! His unique storytelling added richness to the table’s narrative while creating an atmosphere where the group could tell stories in harmony.
