The much-anticipated Nike Dunk High “Syracuse” is slated to drop very soon, but rumor has it, that’s not the only Peter Moore–designed silhouette staying “true to its school” this month.

Well, it’s not actually a rumor anymore; Jordan Brand has officially announced that a Tar Heels–inspired, “University Blue” colorway of the Air Jordan 1 High is scheduled to hit shelves in early March. Michael Jordan’s alma mater has served as the impetus for a bevy of baby-blue sneakers throughout the years, but few have been done quite as well as this one.
This take on the Air Jordan 1 High is blocked in familiar “Chicago” style, with a cool, “University Blue” tone used in lieu of the classic, Bulls-themed hue. The upper comes done in supple, white tumbled leather, with black Swooshes gracing the lateral and medial sides. Black leather covers the ankle collars, while buttery, “University Blue” suede is used on the mudguards, eyestays, heels, and ankle-collar flaps. In classic Air Jordan 1 fashion, tongues are home to “Nike Air”–branded tabs, and ankle-collar flaps boast Wings logos – both done in black. The collegiate kicks are finished with white-rubber midsoles and “University Blue”–rubber outsoles.
The Air Jordan 1 High OG “University Blue” is scheduled to drop March 6th on JimmyJazz.com in men’s, boys’ preschool, and boys’ toddler sizing.
