Miami, you already know the vibes. The Miami International Auto Show pulled up, and SNIPES was right there, turning the showroom into a streetwear playground. From September 26 – 29, we connected with the car fam, sneakerheads, and everyone who knows culture is the one in the driver’s seat.
To really set it off, we brought in Miami’s own Norma Moreno, a true creative who lives and breathes that 305 energy. She hit the floor, chopped it up with the crowd, spotted the freshest kicks, and showed how car culture and streetwear go hand in hand.
When we linked up with her, she broke down how she keeps it classic while still incorporating new trends.
‘Streetwear is about doing it for you – not waiting for someone to get it,’
For Norma, cars and fashion ride in the same lane – it’s all about flexing your style and pushing boundaries. And when it comes to Miami’s flavor? She said it best: ‘We make things funky, interesting, and spicy.’
The SNIPES booth was where fast whips met fresh fits, all in one spot. Shoutout to everyone who pulled up, and extra love to Norma for holding it down for the city.
Miami, you always deliver!

How do you keep up with a constantly changing society, especially with evolving styles and trends?
I always find new trends, pop culture, and style to be so fun and interesting. I tend to stick to the classics, try to stay away from too trendy but also admire and cop when something seems like a fun take on an old style. New colorways, new styles – it’s all a balance!
How do cars influence your personal style or creative expression?
Cars are admirable and a representation of so much engineering genius so a good car design definitely inspires me to be as imaginative and expansive as possible – think bigger and push your own limits!
What’s one thing people might not know – or often misunderstand – about streetwear culture?
Streetwear culture is all about just being yourself, expressing your interests, style, likes and dislikes in a way that isn’t organized or doesn’t follow the usual guidelines. Its not just a cotton shirt, or a shoe – it’s an easy going lifestyle and ability to really not care if someone “gets it” – just do it for you – let the others follow.
In your experience, how does the car community overlap with the fashion/streetwear or sneaker community?
The car community is all about expression though machinery and their unique spin on basic models. I think just like streetwear, its how you give your car a swag and how you push your unique lifestyle with confidence. It’s a passion!
Tell us about your experience at the Auto Show!
I’ve never been and it was eye opening! I kind of want to go to more hahah
Since this was your first Auto Show, what excited you the most?
Test driving cars and being a passenger princess. Hahah.
How would you describe Miami’s influence and presence in streetwear culture?
We’re the South, but a different kind of South. We make things funky, interesting and spicy – it’s a curveball and above all, we’re authentic to being consistency unpredictable and I think thats what attracts so much people to this magic city.
What stood out to you about the people and the culture at the show?
There were a lot of families! People who just wanted to spend time with loved ones and check out some really fun cars! It was sweet.
If you could design a car that represents your style, what would it look like?
Oh man, as much as I’d like to say I love color – I think the younger me always wanted a nice big all matte black Dodge Charger. But then I would love some spoke rims. It’s a toss-up.
How has Miami’s culture influenced your personal style, and what perspective has the city given you as a creator?
Miami gave me the confidence and the swag. Theres something indescribable about our city and its unique mix of culture, tropical and street which I love and you can’t find anywhere else! I’ll tell you one thing, this city feels like a warm humid hug and its own world – can’t get that magic anywhere but this city.
Big thanks to Norma Moreno for bringing her energy to the Auto Show and connecting streetwear with car culture.
