Player exclusive sneakers, otherwise known as P.E.s, are the crown jewels of the sneaker world. These extremely rare sneakers are gifted to collegiate and professional level athletes, and are usually adorned with player and/or team-specific details.

These sneakers are not intended to be sold to the public, though they can be purchased on secondary markets if you're willing to spend a pretty penny.
Jordan Brand produces some of the most coveted P.E. sneakers in the world, and while they still do not offer them publicly, they have started producing P.E.-inspired sneakers.
The trend started last summer when Jordan Brand released the Air Jordan 5 SP “Michigan,” inspired by the Jordan 5s given to student athletes at The University of Michigan. The trend continued just last March with the release of the Air Jordan 3 “UNC,” which were almost an exact replica of the 2018 P.E. pair given to the football and basketball players at Michael Jordan's alma mater. The only difference between these releases and their P.E. counterparts is that these sneakers did not feature any university-specific branding.

This month, Jordan Brand plans to continue their P.E.-inspired theme with the Air Jordan 5 SE “Oregon.” The University of Oregon is among the upper echelon of schools in terms of player exclusive sneakers. Their P.E.s are known for their signature green and yellow colorblocking, and iconic Oregon Duck mascot branding. And, while the Air Jordan 5 SE “Oregon” does not feature the latter, it does serve as a great alternative to the actual Air Jordan 5 “Oregon Ducks” P.E.
The Air Jordan 5 SE “Oregon” is draped in an “Apple Green” nubuck upper, and features a jock-tag on the heel that reads, “Quality products inspired by the greatest basketball player ever.” The sneaker also boasts a black 3M tongue, black eyestays and black mesh side netting. The sneaker is finished with a black midsole featuring “Yellow Strike” shark teeth accents, and an icy translucent outsole.
For anyone looking to grab a pair of the Air Jordan 5 SE “Oregon,” they will be available on September 12 at JimmyJazz.com for $225.
If you need to reach me, I'll be on my computer waiting patiently for Jordan Brand to announce the release of a P.E.-inspired sneaker from my alma mater. Maybe one day.
Styling:
When styling the Air Jordan 5 SE “Oregon,” try to accentuate the “Apple Green” and “Yellow Strike” details in a subtle way. The color palate is pretty bold, and an outfit that matches too much could be overwhelming.
Start with the Timbers Cargo Pants from Caliber. These black cargo pants will match well with the midsole and lace accents of the sneaker. Also, the slimmer fit will accentuate the shape of the sneaker nicely. Pair those cargo pants with the Country House Tee from Superdry. This white t-shirt features a subtle multicolored logo with hits of bright green and yellow that will compliment the sneakers well.
For a bolder outfit I recommend starting with the Athletic Fleece Pants from Polo Ralph Lauren. These grey joggers provide an athletic look, and the tapered ankle cuffs will sit nicely on the sneaker. Finish the outfit with the Tennis Hoodie from Polo Ralph Lauren. This hoodie features bold colors and patterns to create a dynamic look. The green sleeve and yellow blocking will match nicely with the upper and shark teeth accents of the sneaker.
