The Jordan Brand is back with another exclusive, this time, they retro the Air Jordan 8s and bring along a unique black and pink “Pinksickle” colorway. The kids' exclusive release is set to be released in September, in a summer that has been fulfilling for Jordan Brand fans. The sneaker dressed in black is on a long list of classics the Jordan family has retro'd over the past months.

The Jordan 8s first released in November of the 1992-93 NBA season, and were worn exclusively by NBA Legend Michael Jordan. Leading his team, with averaging nearly 33 points a game, eclipsing 20,000 career points and capping off an incredible “Three-Peat” championship, Jordan was at the top of his game. Tinker Hartfield, the leading creative behind Jordan's conceptual design, believed the Jordan Brand was strong enough and wanted a sneaker without the Nike logo. Nike's first reaction was, they were not willing to give up their internationally recognized logo; after discussions between both sides, Nike decided to side with Hatfield and leave the sign off.
The Jordan 8s have a base similar to it's predecessor, but this model featured vivid colors, extensive detail, anti-inversion straps, polycarbonate torsion plate, and fuzzy Jumpman logo. In its initial release the shoe came in three colorways; Bugs Bunny White/ Black, True Red, Bright Concord and Aqua Tone and Playoff Black. The first colorway’s name was brought to light due to the straps on the sneaker resembling the ears of Bugs Bunny. While the Jordan Brand provided abstract colorways, what sneakerheads adored most were the straps. According to some people involved in it's construction, the anti-inversion straps were meant to provide MJ with a better feel of his feet and avoid him from tying his shoes while on the court. Unfortunately, it caused discomfort due to its tightness, but this didn't faze Jordan from having another phenomenal season, winning his seventh scoring title.
This new Jordan 8 ‘Pinksicle’ colorway, releasing exclusively in grade school sizes is highlighted with black leather across the base, with perforations on the collar and side panels. Adding a hint of contrast are the pink accents along the white detailing. The accents of pink run throughout the shoe, giving them a pop of vibrance and the look is topped off with a dash of white detailing, offsetting it's muted upper. Finishing the look is a combination of pink and white used across the side and rubber outsole on the logo. The Air Jordan 8 “Pinksickle” are set to launch on September 4th, 2020 and will be on sale for $140 at select retailers. To compliment the shoes, I'd suggest the Nike Sportswear Swoosh Hoodie. In addition, I'd add the Nike Air Shorts, perfect for being on the go or on the run, and crafted with soft fabric, allowing full range of motion and support.
