Crocs have taken the world by storm on multiple occasions, first entering the market in 2002 with their boat shoe that sold out on-site at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. Haters are going to hate, which has been proven repeatedly with Crocs, but the haters seem to only help Crocs grow their brand. Since their initial boat shoe hit the market, they have sold more than 720 million pairs of shoes and are now one of the world’s top ten non-athletic footwear brands. They took the world by storm again in 2005 when they acquired the family-owned business Jibbitz. The business was created out of the idea Sheri Schmelzer had after she decorated her kid’s Crocs with charms and faux flowers. The business soon became a way to make Crocs personal to every Crocs lover. Crocs made waves with the launch of their collaboration with Designer, Salehe Bembury, for the Pollox Clog in 2021. They have now released seven total colorways of the Pollox and each release flew off the shelves.
Since it’s inception, Crocs have branched out way past their classic style and have many different silhouettes available for purchase. Some of today’s most popular styles aside from the Classic Croc, include the Classic Lined Clog, the Echo Clog, the Classic Crocs Sandal, the Classic Clog Slip-Ons, and the new Mega Crush Sandal. Crocs certainly know how to make their styles stand out, with styles and designs to match everyone’s vibe. And of course, some iconic brand/celebrity collaborations to turn haters into stans. Celebrities like Bad Bunny, SZA, Saweetie, and Post Malone all came from a place of true admiration as these celebrities have been caught repping their favorite Crocs well before their collaborations. Now, if you are anything like me and you have never bought into the Crocs hype, it might be time for us to finally dip our toes in the water… and not just because they are waterproof and all.
