SNIPES teamed up with Art in The Paint and Adidas for a back-to-school event in Atlanta that reached more than 400 students and campers. Hosted at Sneakers & Scrubs event, the one-day activation was all about community support and student resources.
Art In the Paint is a non-profit that brings life back into basketball courts with vivid murals. These courts are to serve as hotbeds, both for expression and inclusion; it was naturally the ideal setting for the 3×3 basketball tournament that brought local kids together in some friendly competition.
Morehouse School of Medicine, one of the premier institutions in the country in the areas of commitment to primary care and social impact, put in place a free physical service for students. In this manner, such a service would ensure kids were medically prepared to return to school with the right health checkups.
In addition to the medical support, SNIPES and Adidas distributed 400 book bags with school supplies to the students as part of the partnership. They tried to alleviate the financial burden of back-to-school shopping on families by providing students with the necessary supplies to aid them for the rest of the year.
It brought athletics, health, and education resources together under one roof to ensure that students are prepared for the school year, inside and outside of the classroom. The day serves as a reminder of what can be accomplished when a community comes together in support of its youth.
