Nike Kyrie 7 “Brooklyn”

Nike Kyrie 7 “Brooklyn”

Kyrie Irving has been dazzling hoop heads with his impeccable handles and unrivaled footwork since entering the league in 2011. Throughout his illustrious career, the shifty point guard has managed to become a six-time All-Star, win an NBA championship, and cook up a successful signature sneaker line with the Swoosh.

The Nike Kyrie line saw its first installment hit the hardwood in 2014 with the release of the Kyrie 1. The model was an immediate fan favorite, heralded for its lightweight cushioning and superior traction – both of which helped the burgeoning star perform at his highest level. This first foray into the sneaker landscape (much like his first step) was unguardable, and led to a plethora of scoring opportunities.

Said opportunities came in the form of subsequent signature sneakers, for which Kyrie managed to net a whopping seven (more if you count the low-top versions). The latest, the Kyrie 7, saw its release earlier this month in dramatic, mystery-box fashion.

Now, if you were unable to secure a pair, or unable to secure the pair you actually wanted, don't worry – Nike is set to release a brand-new colorway of the Kyrie 7 on Black Friday.

Dubbed “Brooklyn,” this ultrawearable color scheme is designed to match the rumored Brooklyn Nets' “City Edition” jerseys, inspired by the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat. The sneakers, like the jerseys, are dressed in subtle hues and abstract patterns. The composite mesh upper is donned in the titular black, draped atop a white under layer peeking out from underneath. White, outlined Swooshes embellish the lateral and medial sides, while “Chile Red,” blue, and yellow accents appear on the tongue's “KI” logo. Additional branding can be found on the heels, which feature embroidered sun-and-moon iconography.

Moving down to the sole units, you'll find foam midsoles in the heels and large Air Zoom Turbo units encompassing the forefoot. The outsole is composed of 360-degree, computer-generated rubber, which wraps along the medial forefoot for unmatched traction.

The Kyrie 7 “Brooklyn” is set to release November 23rd on JimmyJazz.com for a retail price of $130.
