SNIPES AT ROLLING LOUD NYC

SNIPES AT ROLLING LOUD NYC

Queens, New York – Fighting through wild weather and shortened sets, Rolling Loud paid a third visit to Citi Field since its 2015 inception to kick off the first weekend of fall, September 23rd-25th. Friday night saw temperatures as low as 52 degrees, causing concertgoers to rush to the merch tents feverishly searching for hoodies and jackets. A$AP Rocky issued a public apology on Twitter after beginning his set late Saturday night and performing just 9 songs in 30 minutes. Hundreds of people were evacuated from the festival early Sunday night due to a severe thunderstorm that flooded the entire area. Through all these trials and tribulations, you’d think it would be impossible for festival organizers to pull off the perfect weekend…but you’d be wrong. Those that battled through the cold Friday night saw one of three high-powered headliners: Chief Keef, Playboi Carti, and the Pink Friday performer herself – Nicki Minaj – all tore it up on their respective stages featuring an all-star lineup of special guests, including Kanye West (aka Ye), Fivio Foreign, BIA, G Herbo, and Lil Uzi Vert. A$AP Rocky had the chance to bring out GloRilla, who performed her wildly popular song “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” which had the whole crowd rocking. If you braved the storm Sunday night (or forgot to check the weather), you likely saw Soulja Boy play all his throwback hits, followed by Future and special guest Offset who sang the words “Raindrop, Drop-top” from the well-known Migos song “Bad and Boujee” just as the rain began to come down. All these special moments came together to create a hell of a weekend – one that SNIPES was extremely proud to be a part of.

Up-and-coming artist JELEEL! soars over the crowd at the SNIPES Stage

While the SNIPES Stage was rocking all weekend, our partners showed out in a big way to help support the world’s largest Hip-Hop festival and make it one to never forget. The much-anticipated SNIPES Skate Ramp returned from Rolling Loud Miami with our Best Trick Contest winners who secured the chance to flex their skating skills alongside Dane Vaugh, Boo Johnson, and Stevie Williams from the legendary skate company DGK (Dirty Ghetto Kids). Our crew also pulled up with the SNIPES Body Shop and Ball Court, providing custom airbrush tees from Shirt King Academy and hosting a thrilling 3v3 basketball tournament. The winning team received $5,000 in prize money and went home as the official 2022 Rolling Loud Champions. With all the action happening around the SNIPES section, Instagram’s favorite funny couple Chicklet and Maleni stopped by to hang with everyone at the Body Shop and stuck around for some photo opportunities. From the performers to people passing by, SNIPES owes a huge shoutout to everyone who came through to enjoy what we had to offer.
