May bring exciting and noteworthy events for us here at SNIPES! We joined hands with amazing institutions to bring positive change in communities; below are highlights from these influential gatherings that left an endearing mark on all participants.
Dream Makers with Teen Empowerment (TE) – Boston, May 1st, 2024
At the beginning of May, we teamed up with Teen Empowerment. This organization’s goal is to lessen violence among youth and encourage personal as well as community-based growth. Teen Empowerment has welcomed Abrigal Forrester as the new Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer. The leadership of Forrester will guide this organization, impacting more than 6,000 individuals across three chapters and leading a strategic plan for national expansion.
In this unique assignment, we have assisted in constructing a recording studio within the premises of Teen Empowerment HQ. At the TE HQ, the youth can gather, make music, and foster their artistic talents. The partnership emphasizes the importance of offering a place for young voices to be heard and recognized.
Dream Makers with Joyful Readers – Philadelphia, May 7th, 2024
In Philadelphia, our community impact team built a partnership with Joyful Readers. This program puts full-time tutors in schools for intense reading sessions. The 2-on-1 assistance they give to students aids them in enhancing their literacy abilities for their success academically, professionally, and personally.
We rejoiced in our collaboration and conferred distinctions upon the best scholars of this year. The occasion was high-spirited, with plentiful cuisine and delights, acknowledging students’ commitment throughout nine months to literacy progress within the program. It was a night full of motivation emphasizing how “Literacy is a journey, not a race.”
Dream Makers with Reign – Charlotte, North Carolina, May 20th, 2024
The last event for the month in Charlotte was a collaboration with Reign, which work to provide personal and academic growth for young women. Alexis Ellison started this group and has made changes in the lives for many girls.
We honored Autumn and Paris, two exceptional students who have grown with the help of Alexis. The dinner was touching, marked by tributes and sincere tales. After the welcome, Autumn and Paris were given presents to show gratitude. Later on, there was another gathering for the other girls where they got PUMA bookbags, SNIPES accessories and an enjoyable kart race event.
This party showcased the impactful efforts of Reign, showing our dedication to assisting these girls in their path toward accomplishment.
May 2024 showed us again that working together has great strength and can bring change. SNIPES is happy to help these outstanding groups, and we are excited for more chances to support the people and communities all over our country.
