The premier dance studio, Sole Dance, has touched down in the heart of Philadelphia with a goal of teaching hip-hop and street dance to the surrounding community. The studio is dedicated to the preservation, cultivation, and transmission of authentic hip-hop and street dance. Directors Kyle (Just Sole) and Dinita (Queen Dinita) are career dancers, performers, choreographers, national/international battlers, College Professors, U.S. Cultural Ambassadors, and cultural organizers with 20+ years of experience. Because of their global scale impact, SNIPES has partnered with them to bring a one-of-a-kind experience to those who enter the space. Our involvement in the mission is to create a safe space for people of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels so that we can invest in the dance artists of the future.
There are three levels of training programs, the first aimed at kids ages 7-12. The second level available, JS! Hittaz, is aimed at teens between the ages of 13-18. The third level is the pre-professional training program for adults, ages 18-25, and is audition only. There also is the option to pay per month and try it out for a $90 fee to see which form you resonate with most. The five forms they specialize in include house dance, hip-hop, locking, waacking, and popping. Other forms of dance will be available via workshops and other specialized events. Lastly, they also offer the option of a drop in visit for $15.
