Born in the Bronx in 1977 – but always representing and remaining loyal to Virginia Beach, Virginia (and, coincidentally, marrying none other than Virginia Williams), Pusha T had a drive and hunger that would take the world by storm. From “Hell Hath No Fury” to his latest release “It’s Almost Dry”, Pusha T is no stranger to the industry, let alone to the skills and talent required for success. Starting off in the late 90s in the rap duo Clipse (along with his brother), he was able to make a name for himself while garnering respect, fandom and fame from his peers and admirers alike. With friendships and partnerships with musical icon Pharell Williams, contracts with Elektra Records and then to Star Trak Records, Pusha and his brother Malice were able to climb to the top of the Billboard 200 Top R&B/Hip-Hip albums with the release of their second album. Debuting in 2006 at number 14 on the charts, the critically acclaimed album “Hell Hath No Fury” features deep introspective thought on accountability, dripping in religiously themed artistry that took the world by storm. In 2009, Pusha and Malice – both being acquainted with the world of pop-culture, art and iconography – partnered up with cult-classic artist KAWS to create their historic “Til the Casket Drops” album cover. When the group parted ways in 2010, tears were shed and reminiscence was profound – but in the end, it was gratitude that prevailed, for it was that act that gave us the solo career of the Pusha T that we know and love now.

As Pusha T dominated the music scene with both the release of his new album and coinciding national and international tour, SNIPES incorporated both our admiration to the keystone artist and our drive for community-based events to create the Pusha T Meet and Greet. Spanning three cities – New York, Atlanta and Maryland – fans got the opportunity to interact with their favorite artist and participate in one-of-a-kind giveaways that took place at our very own stores. Not only that, but SNIPES – in partnership with Pusha – introduced another initiative: the Pusha T Contest, hosted in Boston, Massachusetts. By posting a video on Instagram featuring their best 16 bars, up-and-coming artists in the community were presented with the opportunity to win a 30-minute mentorship with Pusha T himself; not only that but also free tickets to one of his concerts, with both lodging and travel paid for. With this experience, SNIPES and Pusha T aimed to give back to the community that both stand for and represent, with a goal of uplifting and aiding both success and creative and artistic talent in the industry.

Thanks to your loyalty, you’ll always be able to stay in touch with iconic community-driven events – especially through our Instagram, blog posts and app, curated to keep you in the loop and staying up to date on everything SNIPES.
