The release of the original adidas Yeezy Boost 350 “Turtle Dove” changed the sneaker landscape as we knew it. Its minimal composition, neutral color palate, and low profile shape was a far cry from the boldly colored athletic sneakers dominating the market in 2015.
The relationship between Kanye West and adidas has grown only stronger since the success of the initial release. The Kanye-endorsed line has since produced many beloved silhouettes, but none more popular than the Yeezy Boost 350 V2.
This sequel to the original sneaker saw a few subtle changes that catapulted the model to into super-stardom. The V2 slimmed down its predecessor with a sleeker shape, and extended the length of both the “tongue” and heel tabs for a more dynamic look. This model is also the first to add the iconic lateral side stripe, as well as an intricate knit pattern.
The Yeezy Boost 350 V2 debuted in 2016, and has remained a staple in the Yeezy release calendar ever since. This week, the collaborative effort bears new fruit in the form of the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Carbon.”
This “Carbon” colorway sports a fall-ready two-toned black and grey Primeknit upper, with a black mesh stripe running across the lateral side. Innovative no-tie stretch laces adorn the knit upper, which can be pulled to tighten the sneaker for a more snug fit. Standard laces are also included for a more traditional look.
The dark upper of the sneaker is contrasted by a milky translucent midsole, which encases the full-length Boost cushioning. The sneaker is finished by a light gum rubber outsole. The Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Carbon” will be available on JimmyJazz.com on October 2nd for a retail price of $220. Come early to secure your pair.
