Following the resounding success of the “Metallic Silver” retro, it seemed inevitable that Jordan Brand would reach back into their vault of coveted colorways from the “Japan” Pack. They did – and they came back with the Air Jordan 1 “Midnight Navy,” slated to release this November.

The Air Jordan 1 “Midnight Navy” is one of the more storied sneakers in Jordan's lineage, for various reasons. Firstly, it served as one of the original, non-original colorways of the Air Jordan 1. Secondly, it was among the first Air Jordan 1s to be country-exclusive – releasing alongside three other colorways in the “Japan” Pack. Lastly, it was limited. How limited? Only 3,000 pairs of the Air Jordan 1 “Midnight Navy” ever saw the light of day.

Though the sneaker hasn't seen a proper retro since its inaugural drop in 2001, other iterations of the color scheme have emerged. Last year saw the release of the Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 Low “Midnight Navy,” designed with input from skateboarding legend Eric Koston. It was an instant hit, selling out faster than you could say “Menikmati” – but it wasn't the original.

This upcoming retro of the Air Jordan 1 “Midnight Navy” stays true to the original release, changing only minor details. It comes dressed in white tumbled leather, which appears on the side panels, toeboxes, and ankle collars. Contrasting “Midnight Navy” suede overlays cover the mudguards, eyestays, heel panels, and ankle-collar flaps. The lateral and medial sides are embellished with metallic silver Swooshes, and the sneaker is anchored by white rubber midsoles and navy rubber outsoles.

Unlike the original pair, the tongues feature Nike Air branding as opposed to Jumpman logos. The Wings logos are also slightly different, with this upcoming pair featuring a 3D bubble stamp instead of the traditional printed branding. The sneaker's final details come in the form of CO.JP insole branding and “2001-2020” stitched into the back of the tongue – both of which pay homage to the sneaker's Japanese roots.

The Air Jordan 1 “Midnight Navy” is set to release on JimmyJazz.com November 14th for a retail price of $170. Visit the site early to claim your pair.
