Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have played a crucial role in providing educational opportunities for African Americans who were once unjustly denied an education. These institutions also create a nurturing space for black students to explore their collective identities and celebrate their cultures. However, HBCUs face challenges in terms of low graduation rates, which are often linked to the economic struggles faced by students from low-income households.
Here at SNIPES, we’re dedicated to addressing these challenges through our “Pay It Forward” program. In the past month, we’ve joined forces with underrepresented HBCU students, introducing them to the SNIPES brand, supporting them with educational scholarships and industry internships, and celebrating the unique HBCU experience.

It’s crucial for HBCU students to envision themselves as future industry professionals. To achieve this, we’re partnering with HBCUs to support their communities, create employment opportunities, and offer developmental platforms. We’ve funded on-campus events that educate, support, and celebrate HBCU culture. We’ve also collaborated with on-campus organizations through our SNIPES Serves programming.
We understand that HBCUs provide a stable and nurturing environment for those who are most at risk of missing out on higher education. These students often come from low-income backgrounds, lack resources for internships, and face obstacles in securing employment after graduation. By supporting educational costs, internships, and employment opportunities, SNIPES aims to empower HBCU students to succeed. SNIPES’ partnership with HBCUs reflects our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We acknowledge the vital role that HBCUs play in providing educational opportunities to underrepresented students, and we strive to support their communities, culture, and the future professionals they produce. Through our “Pay It Forward” program, we hope to make a positive and lasting impact on HBCUs and their students.

SNIPES’ partnership with HBCUs is made possible through collaborations with various organizations, including The Big Homecoming 365 Impact Organization, HBCU FIRST, NAFEO Nation, The HBCU Foundation, The Mann HBCU Festival, and Greek Organizations.
