SIZZLING SLAMS AND PEACHY VIBES: SNIPES X ADIDAS LIGHTS UP ATLANTA!

Atlanta, the vibrant cultural epicenter of 404, hosted a one-of-a-kind event that merged basketball, music, food, and community spirit. In partnership with adidas, SNIPES presented an exclusive release of the “Peach” Forum Low colorway, commemorating the iconic shoe’s legacy while embracing the diverse community that makes up the ATL. The exciting day was filled with hoops, music, B.B.Q., and the unmistakable Atlanta spirit.

Kicking off the festivities was a 3v3 basketball tournament held at the heart of Atlanta on Saturday, May 27th. The tourney featured the best hoopers from the 404, competing in a single-elimination bracket. As part of the 3-Stripe Select Basketball League, the event showcased the Southern game style. With $10,000 on the line for the winning team, the competition was fierce and had everyone’s adrenaline-pumping.

The presence of basketball legends added star power to the event. The And 1 Mixtape legend, Philip Chamion, aka “Hot Sauce,” served as the charismatic host and MC for the Peaches & C.R.E.A.M. Cookout. Atlanta Hawks’ starting center, John Collins, hyped up the crowd, interacted with fans, and shared swag. Additionally, Atlanta’s very own Isaiah Collier, the 2023 Naismith Player of the Year and McDonald’s America Co-MVP, made a special appearance before heading off to U.S.C. for his freshman campaign.

Moreover, with Atlanta as the modern-day Motown, the music lineup at the event celebrated the city’s rich musical heritage. The crowd grooved to the beats of D.J. Alpo, ATL’s hottest D.J. from HOT 107.9 Atlanta, who helped artists like Cardi B and Young MA gain traction. Metro Boomin, the top producer in Atlanta with numerous chart-topping hits, showcased his talent and heated the charts with his latest L.P., Heroes & Villains. And finally, rising star Latto, the 23-year-old female rapper from Clayton County, impressed the audience with her dynamic performances.

When it came down to eat, as a nod to Atlanta’s love for soul food and barbecue, SNIPES collaborated with Black-owned restaurant Ray’s Southern Food. The cookout featured a delectable spread of traditional smoked barbecue, soul food, and classic Southern dishes. Mouth-watering treats like peach cobbler, iced tea, smoothies, and candy rings kept everyone returning for seconds.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, to add excitement and energy, Atlanta’s top high school cheer squad performed during timeouts and breaks throughout the 3v3 tournament. Marching bands, an integral part of Atlanta’s identity, showcased their talent and passion, with the Top 3 bands taking center stage. Meanwhile, athletes and fans competed in a friendly double-dutch competition to enhance the afternoon’s fun and festivities.

The SNIPES x adidas event brought together Atlanta’s love for basketball, music, culture, and community in a memorable celebration. From the exhilarating 3v3 basketball tournament to the soulful beats and mouth-watering B.B.Q., the event embraced the essence of the ATL. The “Peach” Forum Low release served as a bridge between the iconic shoe’s legacy and the vibrant culture of Atlanta, creating a unique and unforgettable experience for all who attended. As the day drew to a close, the event left a lasting impression and cemented its place as a true testament to the spirit and soul of Atlanta.
