SNIPES CELEBRATES PUERTO RICAN DAY PARADE

SNIPES CELEBRATES PUERTO RICAN DAY PARADE

If you are planning a trip to New York City on Sunday, June 13th, you may want to have your walking shoes ready if you’re trying to travel along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan! Celebrating its 63rd anniversary, the NYC Puerto Rican Day Parade is a celebration of the nearly 4 million inhabitants of Puerto Rico and over 4 million people of Puerto Rican birth or heritage residing in the United States. With a large population of Puerto Ricans residing in NYC, it’s only fitting to have this event hosted in the city that has such a rich history of PR descendants and culture. The parade marches along Fifth Ave. from 44th St. to 79th St. and has grown to become the largest demonstration of ethnic pride in the United States. If you’re around or travelling to NYC that day, you can probably hear the bells and whistles from any of the five boroughs.

In honor of this annual celebration, SNIPES worked along with Nike on a campaign that celebrates and honors this occasion. With tremendous pride and undeniable energy that Puerto Ricans have for their culture, New York wouldn’t be the same without them and you can feel it all over the city. The impact on the culture is immeasurable and Puerto Ricans continue to honor their heritage and where they came from. Get ready for PR Day with us and come along for the ride as we follow boxer Zachary Ochoa and dancer Coryn Jimenez while we explore the rich history of Nuyoricans and PR Day in NYC.
