The Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Hat Pack is full of rich colors and a festive aesthetic of Mexican culture. Dia De Los Muertos is a two-day holiday that reunites the living with the dead. During the holiday, families typically create offerings to honor their departed loved ones, including altars decorated with yellow marigolds, photos of the deceased, and lots of food and drink. These traditions are believed to help encourage visits from the land of the dead. The holiday begins November 1st at midnight with Dia De Los Angelitos (Day of the Little Angels), where families are visited by the spirits of deceased children for 24 hours. Dia De Los Difuntos (All Souls Day) begins at midnight the following day, November 2nd. This 24-hour celebration takes on a more adult-like theme with tequila, games, and dancing. The last day is Dia De Los Muertos (Spirits of All the Dead), which is a public celebration with parades, Calavera painted faces (skeletons), gifts, and sugar skulls holding the departed’s name.
