To combat the recent tragedies associated with the devastating effects brought on by hurricanes Fiona and Ian, SNIPES is partnering with Hispanic Federation to support relief efforts for those that were negatively impacted. Residents of Puerto Rico experienced catastrophic mudslides, flooding, and widespread power outages, all of which continue to impact survivors weeks after the storm. In the Dominican Republic, Hurricane Fiona’s 90 m.p.h. winds and life-threatening floods have left many families without basic necessities like shelter, clean water, and food. While Hurricane Fiona flew through the Caribbean region throughout most of September, Hurricane Ian hit Florida as a Category 4 storm and did not dissipate until October 1st. Historic storm surges and widespread power loss plagued cities like Fort Myers Beach and Naples, leading to billions of dollars in damage and countless deaths. With Hispanic Federation stepping in, the distribution of power generators, non-perishable food, drinking water, hot meals, and cash assistance to all those in need has become a top priority. HF has also launched a $100,000 Emergency Relief Fund to promote other nonprofit organizations as they provide relief to thousands of Floridians. Founded in 1990, Hispanic Federation continues to advance and empower the Hispanic community in their greatest hour of need.
